Tale of Two Birds

The Red-billed leiothrix journeys independently. This small, bright forest bird moves lightly through shrubs and trees, flying short distances at a time. It may be seen near other leiothrix birds while feeding, but it does not migrate in large, coordinated flocks or fly in formations across long distances. Each bird relies on its own wings, strength, and instinct. It flits from branch to branch, rises gently along wooded hillsides, and makes its way through lower mountain forests on its own. Even in shared habitats, its flight is personal - powered by its own small, steady effort.
