How old is Funky Rainbow?
Funky Rainbow was established in 2013. We started off as a travelling bookstore (we still are!) taking books and their creators here, there, everywhere in our little red pickup truck.
Where are you located?
Our flagship store is located in JP Nagar, Bangalore. We have a store in Gokulam, Mysore as well. You can find travel directions on Google Maps. Check out Contact Page for map links.
Does the Travelling Bookshop actually travel to other places?
Yes, we do. We travel to different places across the length and breadth of our country to connect books and readers—here, there, everywhere!
Do you really have only Indian books at your stores?
That's right. As of February 2026, we have more than 18,000 titles in our database. At Funky Rainbow, you will even find books that aren't available at any other bookstore. Our mission, since inception, has been to connect readers, especially children, with Indian children's literature. And there's lots of it!
Do you do pop-ups? Can you come to our locality?
Yes we do! If you'd like us to pop-up in your locality or at your apartment complex/school/event, get in touch with us. There will be costs involved, but we can talk about what works best for us—we have to work out logistics, manpower and availability. Contact us right away!
What is "Library Love"?
Library Love is our specially curated school programme that introduces children to contemporary Indian writers & illustrators—in person, at school! Get in touch with us for more details on costs and schedules.
What are Funky Rainbow Literature Festivals?
Funky Rainbow Literature Festivals are fully-curated, organised, logistics-managed programmes that bring contemporary literature and their creators face to face with their readers—in schools across India. Contact us for details and costing (depending on the strength of the school, and the number of sessions planned among other things).
Why won't you sell outside India?
We can't because almost all the books we stock are intended for sale only in the Indian subcontinent and carry exclusive Indian pricing. Thanks to different trade agreements and import/export restrictions with India, pricing and availability will differ in other countries.
I'm a self-published author. Will you stock my books?
Yes! We are launching our fulfilment services for self-published authors soon. We will stock your books, and make them available for online sales. We will also take care of shipping them. Terms & Conditions, and subscription fees apply. Write to us at shop@funkyrainbow.com to know more.
